I need to get a cookbook for ideas on dinners to make for Lauren. I guess now that she is a year and half, I need to start being more responsible / proactive / commited / organized (yes, I'm crying now... I used to be the only one who suffered from my shortcomings... ok, maybe Chuck suffered a little too, but he's perfectly capable so I don't have sympathy).

Here are her (and my) little nuances about meals:

- likes veggies (thought still often gets them in the form of baby food)
- loves pasta
- doesn't seem to like meat
- not quite using a fork/spoon yet - uses fingers
- needs to be healthy (no chicken nuggets)
- needs to be fast and easy to make

I'm thinking of getting Organic Baby & Toddler Cookbook. Any other recommendations?

I noticed that (at least for me) Amazon recommends the book "Super Baby Food" as an alternative. I got that book as a Christmas present and HATE IT. Extremely jumbled, rambling, and incoherent. As a sleep-deprived mom, I need a book that lays things out very clearly and simply.

First Meals by Annabel Karmel is a favorite here. Big fan of most Dorling-Kindersley books in general.

I've got "Wholesome Meals for babies and Toddlers" that I bought for $7 at B&N (cheap books section) that seems really great. And I've got two by Annabel Karmel. Hmm... that sounds like I've kinda gone overboard. But I did get one of these for free and the other two for way cheap. Anyhoo, like I said, they seem good, but since we're just now starting the solids thing, I have only read through them.

But I can agree with what Chezwhat said ... Super Baby Food is horrendous. My doc recommended it (with a this lady is kinda crazy caveat) because of some food allergies in my family, but I cannot stand it.
