I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. Most of you know, through Jenny's blog, that I was hospitalized and have had the baby, Lauren Rose. She was born two and a half months early and will likely be in Neonatal Intensive Care for another two months. She is doing well though, looking better each day. I'm sure there will be some more worrisome days, but she is at a top hospital in great hands. I can't wait to bring her home.

I truly believe that she and I are still here today with the help of all the kind thoughts and prayers of many people. I have been so touched by the thoughtfulness of not only family and some truly amazing friends, but also strangers who only know me through our blogs.

We are blessed in many ways and through this, Lauren will be sure to learn how important it is to give kindness to others.

Here are more pictures.

Glad to see things have settled enough for a post! So good to hear from you. I'm so happy, I'm literally crying here at my desk. Really. I'll even take a pic to prove it. Best wishes, cherie - thinking of you often. Remember, we're only 2 blocks away from the hospital should you need us or a break.

Tina,
What a happy day -- looking at your blog again and seeing your post. I am so happy for you that things seem to be going okay. If ever you need to talk, John and I are here for you. We have had a different set of problems, but we have had our fair share of medical issues the last few years. Lauren Rose is a beautiful name. You all deserve so much happiness!
Love,
Cindy

Isn't it amazing how much you can love someone so small? I'm tearing up just looking at your pictures. When I had my preemie so many people, strangers mostly, told me about their own preemie family member. I couldn't wait to also have mine be "so big now you'd never know she/he was only 2/3/4 lbs." Soon you'll be saying that too. Congratulations.

Dear Tina,
I've been thinking of you too, and I'm so happy to see mommy and baby doing so well. I also teared up with happiness. When spring has sprung and the flowers begin to bloom, Lauren Rose will be happy and home. Congratulations on your wonderful new family member! :)

I found you through ljc and wanted to drop in to let you know I am thinking of you and your family.

I was also on bedrest and had my son early (16 weeks), so I know that you have been through and are still going through the hardest and most wonderful time. I know you are both so happy she is here and scared for her as well. You will spend the next few months taking things one day at a time and still dreaming of when you can bring her home.

I just wanted you to know that there are people out here - mothers - who are sending your small family good thoughts. We know it is a long haul, but the payoff is huge.

I just wanted to ask if you have an online registry anywhere? I would love to be able to send something to help you get ready for her homecoming, or even something to help make the NICU more comfortable.

Love ya!
Natalie (and Paul, too!)
