Daddy held Lauren Rose for the first time this past week. My heart just melted to see our little peanut in his arms. She is doing well, though still on a little bit of oxygen as she has O2 saturation dips and a Brady (heart rate dip) every now and then, but this is pretty normal for a preemie.

Mommy, on the other hand, is falling apart. I have shoulder and arm pain, and the latest pain - in my calf - has set off worry of blood clots. Though they couldn't test for it today (everyone had gone home), as a precaution, they started treatment so I had to get a shot in my stomache today. While the shot itself didn't hurt, the medicine going in hurt ALOT. I hope they find it to be a false alarm - I'll take a charlie horse, please!

Oh, I posted more pics too.

Thanks for posting more pictures. The one picture where her little knee is showing...she has the cutest lil knees. She's also very stylish in her pink hat. :)

Oh, I cannot wait until you can take her home and snuggle, snuggle, snuggle. I just keep thinking that she's so tiny and going through so much right now, as are you and hubby. Those pictures are too precious.

Sweet.

I remember that kind of pain, particularly in the calf and the knee, but never thought to tell the dr about it. I also thought I was falling apart, but was too frightened to tell anyone. I'm glad you've done otherwise and I sure hope the painful injections help, T!

She looks wonderful! Brings back memories of my super-preemie niece (2lb 10oz at birth) that will be 2 in July and is thriving. Modern medical care is miraculous. Continuing to send positive vibes to you and Miss Lauren.

I often read your blog and have been thinking of you and your family throughout your pregnancy and delivery. I'm sending you all the positive energy I can gather for all three of you.

I know you already know it, but I can't help saying it, baby Lauren is adorable. Congratulations!

All the best to you, Chuck and Lauren. I'm a nurse and I just taught someone how to give himself the injections at home. You and your family are in my thoughts.
